This film is about a little boy who is adopted by an Australian family and is based on a true story based on the book A Long Way Home. This is more than just a lifetime movie.

Plot

The main character of the film is called Saroo. He lived in Khandwa, India with his older brother Guddu, mother and younger sister. The brothers, in order to buy milk for their loved ones, were engaged in stealing coal from the railway.

But one day Guddu did not want to take Saroo for additional work at the station, but still Saroo insisted on his own and went with him. One moment from the fact that he worked too hard. Saroo got into one of the carriages at the station and fell asleep.

After some time, Saroo wakes up and realizes that his train is going in an unknown direction. He tried to get out of the car, he had nothing to do. After 15-20 hours, the train arrives at an unknown station where Saroo leaves and does not understand where he is. At the station where there are a lot of people and everyone speaks a language unknown to him. Where he is trying to buy a ticket at the box office, but unfortunately they do not understand him at this place. He also does not understand the name of his village. He calls "Geneshtalu".

At the station, he meets children who, like him, are there and begins to spend time with them. At one point, men begin to chase after them, but they manage to hide from them.

One day, when he is begging, he is met by a woman unknown to him and given food, this woman could speak his dialect. She takes him to her home where she washes him and begins to feed him sweets and food. And so some time passes. One day a man comes to her house and begins to examine it. Saroo, realizing that they want to ransom him, run away from them

they also adopt 1 more boy with him. They live in Australia on the island of Tasmania. Where they start going to school and then go to the University. All this time he had dreams about his native matter and his native village.
