Errrrrrrrrm, when I try to login to The Abyss, this comes up:

Battle.net was unable to properly identify your application version. Please uninstall and then reinstall the application. If the problem persists then you may have a computer virus. I tried uninstalling StarCraft completely and reinstalling it and The Abyss still didn't work. I tried just getting rid of Abyss by using ftp.blizzard.com and reinstalling it and it didn't work....

What am I doing wrong, and how can I fix this?

here's few tips that you can try..

First you can try uninstalling and install starcraft in the ohter path.
(default path is "C:\windows\program files\ starcraft" so you can try "c:\starcraft")

or,

you can also try to get the latest patch file 1.16.1 because the Abyss iccup launcher is only
suitable to starcraft version 1.16.1.

I had the same problem. I tried to reinstall several times, but it didnt work.
But after a while i found a solution!!!

I got my to work with just putting in the Starcrarft CD (not the expansion), and push "Play game/Starcraft"
It works when you have the cd in the computer.
But after a week or 2 i tried without CD, and it worked without the Starcraft CD in the Computer.

Solution:
Play with the Starcraft CD in the CD room.

Mayby after a cupple of times you played with the CD in the computer it will work without CD, MAYBY!!

When I said "when I try to login to The Abyss" I meant- when I try to enter The Abyss. I can't even get to the login screen.

there are videos on youtube regarding port 6112. i had to fix my port the same way. if you're using a router at all you need to do it. i have frontier and its a little more complicated than others. if you have frontier and have trouble getting it to work i can give you directions...

i got taht...... no way am i using any hacks, and i have no virus's i can see the Iccup server it just says that when i try to log on, i even have the right version 1.16.1 helP!

i clicked on the '2x' button and the gamed zoomed in 2x as u would expect. but now i have the problem of it being zoomed in too far and i cannot change it due to the fact that the 2x button is now completely off the screen. any help in fixing this would be great ^^

If using a modem you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to a battle.net server". and it keeps directing me to battle.net support page, but that is not helpful at all! i went into Abyss server once and then exited.. but the next time i went to go into it, it was not even on the server list, AKA, it only has US west east ect ect..
anyway to bring it back O.O
