VOD: LuCifer (P) < Blue Storm 1.2 > Calm (Z)

KTF vs STX was underway with the first match of the day being LuCifer from KTF against Calm from STX. LuCifer started off at the bottom-left-hand corner while Calm spawned at the top-right-hand corner. Normal play began to take place as LuCifer opened with a FE Build and Calm with a 12 Hatch, with the exception of Calm having to place his Hatchery at the mineral only on account of LuCifers probe being at his natural and not wanting to waste any time.


After Calm got his Spawning Pool he decided to take his natural back by forcing the probe out of there. After the Hatchery went down Calm produced 6 Zerglings to force LuCifer to make a Cannon, and to his success he did, and also made LuCifer make a mistake ... placing the Cannon so that only small units can actually get through. Advantage, Calm.


LuCifer took the pressure method where he pumped out a handful of Zealots to try and pressure Calm and keep him honest. This didn't turn out so well since Calm had more than enough Hydralisks to fend this ~12 Zealot attack off. So because of this failure, LuCifer took his mineral only and guarded it with Zealots and High Templars (although his Archives was a little late).


Going into the late game, Calm had Hydralisks, Lurkers, Zerglings, and Overlords spread out all over the middle of Blue Storm, but LuCifer did exactly what he did before and took his new Dragoon heavy army and pushed. Once he felt he had to retreat, he did so, and took the expo at 11 o'clock.

LuCifer actually thought it over again, after seeing Calm's army and found something weird ... the Zerglings didn't have speed upgrades? It was then that LuCifer decided to push with everything he had. Creating Zerg blood all over the map with Dragoons, Zealots, High Templars, and Archons, LuCifer quickly took out Calms 6 o'clock expansion, and moved toward the next base, the 5 o'clock expansion. By the time he took this out, I swear his one Archon was a Hero unit, with over 55 kills ... too bad theres no Hero Archon in the actual story... ^^


Eventually as LuCifer moved from base to base killing off everything in his way, Calm had no answer for LuCifers mass army of super units and tapped out GG.


VOD: Flash (T) < Colosseum 1.0 > Kal (P)

Flash vs Kal, The Ultimate Weapon vs ... No Nickname :P Not to say Kal isn't good, Kal has won 6 out of his past 10 matches overall and 5/10 for his past PvT. Flash needs no introduction, 24 wins in his past 27 matches ... period.

Anyway, Flash started off at the 7 o'clock position and Kal at the 1 o'clock opening with a 1 Gate Core Build while Flash blocked himself in and opened with a 1 Factory+Addon Build. After producing 1 Zealot, Kal built a hidden Robotics Bay with plans to get a Reaver, but not before he took his natural, and also with plans to take his 3rd base after sending out the Reaver+Shuttle. Since Flash didn't get much of a tell from his first scouting SCV he went for the safe build and built an E-Bay. Kal went on the attack with the Reaver but had little success, and in return Flash went with 2 Vultures and massaccred Kals 2nd expo and did a little harrass on Kals natural. Advantage, Flash.


After gaining that ground on Kal, Flash quickly set up his 2nd expansion and safely secured it from any attacks. Kal, in order to keep up with Flash took the base at 4 o'clock, and then soon after Flash took the one right outside his 2nd expansion. Turning out to be more of a macro game, Kal teched up to Arbiters and began with the heavy upgrades on his ground units, while Flash did the same. But with a drop from Flash on Kals 4 o'clock, Flash just kept getting closer and closer to victory.

In an attempt to catch up yet again, Kal dropped on Flash's natural which was a success, taking out a bunch of SCV's and a couple tanks with just 2 Reavers and a few Zealots. Mass war soon broke out near Kals entrance where Kal wont the battle, but Flash's better economy and upgrades along with EMP shock started to slowly decimate Kal's army. However with some really nice storms (bad placement on Flash's part), Kal won the second battle suprisingly.



After some major fights, and alot of Kals expansions being taken out a rebuilt, eventually Flash's economy pulled ahead of Kals and because of Flash's ability to easily reproduce lost units and Kal's inability to do so, Flash took Match 2 of KTF vs STX and chances of STX winning were looking slim.


VOD: ZergBong / Reach (P) < Hannibal 1.1 > CreationToss (P) / July (Z)

STX's last chance for hope ... July and CreationToss, starting off at 2 and 12 respectively speaking. On the other side, ZergBong and Reach at 6 and 9. Both teams opened up with the exact same build, 2 Gate for the Protoss players and 9 Pool for the Zergs.

The builds started to diverge as the game went on, Reach going for a 3rd Gate and more Zealots while CreationToss went and dual Stargated. On the Zerg side, ZergBong teched to Mutalisks while July did something unorthodox and went for Hydralisks. July soon fell behind due to ZergBongs Muta-harrass but soon enough all of ZergBongs Mutalisks and even a few Overlords fell to the power of a handful of Corsairs from CreationToss.



Reach was the first one to take an expansion, guarded with his units as well as some from ZergBong. In retaliation, CreationToss tried a Cannon attack to shoot down at Reach's natural, but he in turn took that chance and tried to take out July (got fended off decently well, but took heavy damage).

2 Reavers landed in Reach's base but with the storms from Reach's High Templars, they just demolished everything. Reavers, Shuttles, Corsairs ... everything went down to the storms. With 1 base for CreationToss and a damaged July, things were looking grim from STX.



To add to that, CreationToss's dual Reavers got owned yet again by 1 High Templar and soon after, an all out war took place in the middle of the map, with the victory going to KTF (unit combination of Mutalisk, Archon, Zealot, Dark Templar, Dragoons).
