Will the iCCup ladder prevail?

On 09.03.2008 the first WC3-ladder using Bnet as a platform started.
This could be a great step for both ICCUP and professional WC3 gaming. Cause ICCUP can make laddering even more fun and challenging by changing the Mappool, the Rating-System, adding antihack and kicking every abuser out there by their admins. Things the Battle.net ladder does not have.

But will there be a stable Ping for everyone playing @ this ladder? GGC shows that it is possible.
Will ICCUP be able to get players from all over the world together to play at the same ladder just as they do @ ICCUP`s starcraft ladder? Spreading the information that ICCUP has just started a WC3-Ladder would be the first step on a long road. Thats a task everyone of u can do by telling ur friends and so on ;)

We will see how it goes.

Well it's true that you can spread the information about it, however imo it is a bit too early for that. ICCup Warcraft has to first implement some changes that will make it stand out from the regular Bnet ladder. Atm if you go around telling your friends "Hey come play Warcraft on Iccup", first thing they will ask is "What can they offer that Bnet can't?", and the honest is for now "nothing much". How admins will manage the future development of the ladder remains to be seen. However they have a big burden to carry, because of having the most popular SC ladder everyone expects their Warcraft ladder to be just as good. Anyway time will tell :) I for one wish "Good luck !" to the admins in this endeavour.

well, it is hard to judje about anything warcraft related now. me myself played wc3 only ~10 times, so my knowlage abot wc3 is far from being actual. it will take us few month on getting all the ideas wc3 community have and implementing it in our ladder.but i promise - we will make evrth possible to make it simply the best ladder.

The BNet ladder right now is too filled with hackers/abusers.. so a ICC War3 ladder would work. The problem is getting all the skilled players to play it, and beat out GGC

Well it took me about four months of waiting for the site to load jus to post this comment. You should streamline what you have now instead of getting too greedy. You don't need blogs, you don't need to upload photos, you don't need flash/moveable banners. . .

It's a good ladder, but the kinks seem to be getting ignored while the admins grab more and more. . .It's not going to work out.

not to flame, but to be honest, ive played wc3 1on1, and i dunt see how its even pro... like ive watched an mym.moon replay. and notice they only use a max of 3 unit producing buildings of the same kind, even less, never expo, never really have more than 2 unit groups to micro, yet high apm , and its played professiounally.... i am either jelous, or just ignorant from my experiences with the game. DOTA OWNS tho

legendzs that isnt a very informed comment, wc3 is focused more on micro than macro (thats why you only see max 3 unit producing buildings and not expos every game)and there is less units but more hp for these units and there are heroes so uber micro is better than uber macro :) for wc3 at least

ah yes I played WC3 on ladder I wasn't that bad 66% most of the time and I always had a bad opinion of starcraft (not taking any micro or skill) well I ate my words or...opinions when I took the game up again (I played when I was 8) it seems that my APM (250-300) and micro have transfered over but damn I Can't macro for anything. I am learning though but unfortunatly (or fortunatly) I like starcraft a lot better now(mostly because no Elf...). But anywho I think that if Warcraft had a ladder that pros played on (even in asia a lot of them don't) as well as new blood.
It's a great idea and I thought something like that would happen with GGC's ladder but apparently not. If warcraft 3 is to really survive starcraft 2's release they are going to need a ladder system like ICCUP to do it. The problem will be getting people to play on it and getting the pros to play on it as well...both of which are going to be hard to do let alone setting it up.
