If you don't want to play you can still be part of the fun — you can suggest Maps or Handicaps in the TeamLiquid thread!

More Information

The TeamLiquid Arena event (or TL-Arena for short) was based on a minigame found in Final Fantasy 7 called the arena. TeamLiquid Arena invites a prominent player from the StarCraft scene and pitches this player against the public, consisting of low-ranked players. After each game, a handicap, picked randomly from a predetermined pool, is imposed upon this player and stacks with any previously accrued handicaps. The events are broadcast and commentated live.

A short interview given by ThePlaymate

Will you play on iCCup next season as some pub gaming besides playing cw's with mym?

I don't know this season has been quite nice but due to the drops i have decided to return to ggc as main platform :) For now i dunno i might start playing again not sure yet

What do you think of skill of players A/B level? Can it be compared with top-leagues skill?

Yes definitely there are some Russian players out there that are very skilled and i was surprised by the level of competition i got :)

And what improvements may be done to ensure that some top-players such as you regularly play on iCCup?

Main part is to attract the top/good players to iCCup and when there are enough skilled players good games could be played with good players on both teams instead of one team stacked and another with one or two decent players.

What do think if some fun tourneys will be run on the iCCup, for example -ardmwtf mode, which team will be the first?)

Well ardmwtf is luck based so it can be any team :)

Do you play some custom wc3 maps? or you prefer to play another games instead of switching through wc3 maps?

I play pudge wars, raze war (sf) and uther party (hammerball) :D

A Custom-bot was made for people who like to play on custom maps. Now you can create nine most popular non-DotA maps. Wanna bite someones face with a hook? chost PW is at your disposal. Maybe you want to train a SF? Then choose /chost SW. A full list of maps can be found in the spoiler. Don't be shy to ask for your favorite map to be included into this list. All your opinions are important for us.

Custom maps

To create the game /chost
Battleships Crossfire. Code — BT.
Castle Fight. Code — CF.
Footmen Frenzy. Code — FF.
Legion TD War. Code — LTD.
Pudge Wars Advanced. Code — PW.
Shadowraze Wars. Code — SW.
Vampirism Fire. Code — VF.
Warlock. Code — WS.
You TD. Code — YTD.

Example: /chost SW only turbo pro

For those who hate leavers one more option has been added, this new command doesn't allow people with the 15 percents in leaves or more to enter the game. /nol works as similar as ñî /nah. even it is not so prestigious to leave now because of the remade system of deleting the scores for leaves, now that who decide to leave high-ranked games will lose their scores on the speed of light

---+---Communication improvement ---+---

A group of commands were added to facilitate the interaction with your clan. /clan (or /c). In addition to it, you will receive messages about all actions of your co-clan members and you won't need to add them onto your friends list. The list of commands are:
/clan list (/c l) — shows a full list of the members in your clan
/clan msg (/c m /c w) — sends a private message to all your fellow clan members, that are online
/clan online (/c o) — shows a list to you of all online co-clan members
/clan off (/c off) — switches messages about co-clan members' actions to off
/clan on (/c on) — switches messages about co-clan members' actions to on
/clan state (/c state) — shows if the clan message delivery is on or off

Improvements also affected not only the process of the game, but of the service too. Such improvements include: adding a USAUS bot, to help support US players as well as adding an automatic pinger function. The automatic pinger will choose the best bot for you. While using your Anti-hack launcher you will only see the games made on the bots with a ping of no more than 150 ms.

<![CDATA[DotA Ladder Updates]]> http://www.iccup.com/dota/content/news/dota_ladder_updates.html

The DotA ladder has recieved some important updates, see the itemised list below.

 • 1. Changes of the Ladder system.

We decided that cm mode is giving too many ladder points, while sd and ar are not giving enough, so the updated system looks like this:

CM — 150%
AP — 100%
RD — 100%
SD — 50%
AR — 40%

 • 2. Clearstats and Transfer

Now, the command /clearstats resets not only statistics, but the leave counter as well. There is of course a downside — you can use the command only once every two weeks (this goes for transfers as well). However, if you do use clearstats or transfer and it has not been 2 weeks since you last used it, the server will show the date and time when you will be able to clearstats or transfer again.

 • 3. Updated custom-bot.

Custom bots have been a feature on the iCCup server for a while, but now you can also create not only DotA games, but also some other very popular custom maps. It's very easy to use, just type this command /customhost [map code] [game name] (or just /chost)

List of maps included:
Battleships Crossfire. Code — BT
Castle Fight. Code — CF
Footmen Frenzy. Code — FF
Legion TD War. Code — LTD
Pudge Wars Advanced. Code — PW
Shadowraze Wars. Code — SW
Vampirism Fire. Code — VF
Warlock. Code — WS
You TD. Code — YTD

For example, if we want to create a game of Pudge Wars Advanced, then the command would look like this: /chost PW Pudge Wars go go all, if we want to host dota, we should type something like: /chost dota sdso join. Do not forget that for DotA maps you will need to type the mode manually after game starts. Of course, you won't get any points or leaves while playing on custom bot, also those games won't be recorded in your matchlist.

 • 4. Command to limit malicious leavers.

So, if you don't want to play with leavers, just type /noleavers (alternative versions — /nol /nl) and it will hide your game from those who have leaves in over 15% of games. It works the same way as /nah, so it stays on and you will need to turn it off again with /nol

 • 5. A modified Points System for the players who leave before the game ends.

Now the number of points lost will be calculated depending on the rank of the player. The base value (for the rank of D-) is 50 points (for the first ten leaves), with each successive rank 25 points more will be lost. Thus, for example, a player with 0 leaves and C+ rank will be punished for a leave on the ap mode by -175 points and, with every 10 leaves, a further deduction of 25 points will be attributed. For example the same player with a C+ rank but with 35 Leaves on ap mode will lose -250 points in total.

 • 6. Reworked slot reservation.

Perhaps, many of you have noticed the mysterious «players» with the names ReservedSlot. To explain this phenomenon, it works like this — type /hold [slot number] [player name], for example: /hold 2 x64. If that slot already has a player it will kick them, but in their place will be ReservedSlot, who will keep that slot until the specified player joins. If you no longer need to reserve a slot just write /unhold [slot number], for example: /unhold 2

 • 7. Clan commands.

Recently we introduced a set of commands to facilitate interaction with your clan — /clan (or /c). In addition to this, you will receive messages regarding all actions of your clan mates and no longer need to add them to friends. Here's list of commands:

/clan list (/c l) — Displays a complete list of all members of your clan.
/clan msg (/c m /c w) — Sends a private message to all clan mates who are online.
/clan online (/c o) — Displays a list of the members of your clan that are online.
/clan off (/c off) — Turns off the delivery of messages about the clan mates actions.
/clan on (/c on) — Enables the delivery of messages about the actions of clan mates.
/clan state (/c state) — Displays On or Off message delivery to the clan mates actions.

It should also be remembered that you can use /c off, and by doing this you will no longer receive messages sent to your clan mates with /c m

For clan commands big thanks goes to Russian FederationiCCup.InGhost

Based on a lot of feedback, in the near future users also will be able to change the name of their default clan channel, the functions of opening / closing from non-members, the automatic assignment of the status of the admin / operator of the channel for leaders / shamans of the clan and much more.

 • 8. Auto-Detection of the best bot by ping.

Recently we have updated our laucnher, so from now on, it will detect latency to each of our ladder host bots. Also, the bot wih the lowest ping will be set as your default bot for creating games. In addition, the list of games displays only games created by the host bots to which latency is less than 150 ms.

 • 9. Automatic Balancing of players.

Perhaps the most welcome innovation of all. Are you tired of abusers who swap players with lower rank to another team? We introduce this feature for exactly this purpose as it as a complementary way to create a game in ap mode and then balance it. The command looks like this: /host aptb name of the game (similar for the other mods — rdtb, sdtb, artb). After entering the command /start, the bot will select the best combination of players and then they change places according to a calculated order.

And yes, there is icing on the cake — if everyone in the winning team have antihack launcher on, then when you play with balance mode, you will get +50% bonus. We hope this encourages fair and balanced play in the spirit of the game.

 • 10. USA host bots available.

Finally, some good news for all North America based users, they can now play with almost no delay because of the addition of iCCup Host Bots located in the USA.

If you find any bug or something does not work — feel free to report it! Thanks for your attention.

b) Join the FnaticMSI Rookie Draft Team by clicking «Join Team» on the team page and waiting for your request to be processed.
c) PLAY as MANY games as you can to finish in the top 16!

So how is this going to work?

#1. Ladder Stage

#2. Tournament Stage

#3. Selection Stage

1. First of all to participate, you must register an ID here on iccup with the tag: FRD (see above)

All players must create a new ICCup account and have the «FRD» tag in their names. Any accounts with games already played on them or without the FRD tag will not be allowed to join. Any form of tagging is acceptable, so long as it is clear. If it is not, we will not accept your request to join the FRD team.

The first selection round is the ladder stage, where players have 10 days, between February 18th to February 28th to climb the iCCup ladder and at the end of the period, the top 16 players will then move on into the group stage.

2. Then comes the round of 16, where the top 16 players from the ladder stages will compete in a tournament style series of matches, composed of Bo3 and Bo5 matches, from this, 8 of the top players will move on into the final stages of the tournament.

3. Lastly four players will be selected from the Round of 8 to make up the core members of the FnaticMSI Starcraft team.

Winning the tournament puts you in a better position to be selected, but FnaticMSI reserve the right to pick any 4 players from the Round of 8. All Ro8 players will be carefully judged and selected on the basis of potential, mentality & in-game skill.

What can you win:

 • Contract from FnaticMSI
 • Beta key for SC2
 • Hardware from SteelSeries
 • Support from Bigfoot Networks & Slappa Gear
