Human are the only race not represented as Netherlands{#Orc}Grubby, Korea{#Night Elf}Moon, China{#Undead}TeD, and Korea{#Undead}FoV gear up to hopefully provide tournament casters ToD and RotterdaM something to get excited about in the upcoming games.

The group stages saw an impressive showing by the Undead players, while some other tournament favourites failed to perform and deliver what the fans have come to take for granted from superstars such as SK's Orc powerhouse Lyn and World Elite's premier Human Sky. Sky was taken out 2-0 by WE teammate and Chinese compatriot TeD 2-0, coupled with a loss to Ukrainian Night Elf HoT meant Sky could no longer qualify for the semis.

Similarly fated Lyn, arguably one of the best Orc players of all time, was shut down in his group consisting of Grubby, InFi, and Moon without winning a single game.

<![CDATA[Korean micro maps #1]]> http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/content/news/korean_micro_maps_1.html

A couple weeks ago, I started to release Micro Maps that were originally only available to mainly pro gamers. The first map was a single player Mutalisk Micro Map, which teaches you how to properly «stack» your muta's so that units can't target them one by one, as well as learning how to micro vs. scourge the right way, since not all units respond the same.

Stop Massive Attack is the latest addition to the list, it's a team based micro map, you need at least two people in the game for it to work. The game is simple to start, you just move your civilian to a beacon and then move the zergling up to trigger the computer. From there just micro your butt off and have fun.

You can find the Micro Map list Here.

Week 1 — Mutalisk Micro
Week 2 — Marine vs. Lurker
Week 3 — Stop Massive Attack

<![CDATA[Ret vs. Grape re-schedule]]> http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/content/news/ret_vs._kt.mgw%29grape.html

RET VS. GRAPE IS BEING RE-SCHEDULED, IT WAS GRAPES BIRTHDAY TODAY AND HIS TEAMMATES FORGOT IT

After mainly MSN/AIM/ICQ and a few email/forum votes, the communities decision had been narrowed down to two KoreaeSTRO members for Netherlands{#Zerg}{#Terran}ToT)ret( to face this Saturday, they were Korea{#Protoss}Say[Join] and Korea{#Protoss}KT.MGW)Grape.

We decided to first go with Grape, as he is the weaker of the two players, and is the person we’re more looking for at the moment. The reason we chose Grape was because this series is for a top foreigner to work his way up, and play the worst to the best players on a pro team, but all of you, The Starcraft Community, helped us make this decision, and we shall eventually see Ret vs. Say[Join] in the near future.

The map list will determined tomorrow, and you will find out on the day of the event what they will be. We’re trying to keep it as balanced as possible, while using Pro League maps.

ToT)ret( vs. eSTRO #2 — You choose the maps & Protoss player!

Fresh off an unlucky defeat, Netherlands{#Zerg}{#Terran}ToT)ret( is back once again to prove himself to his fans around the world, this time taking on an KoreaeSTRO Protoss player. But who could it be? That is for you to decide.

We decided we want to see him play a Protoss to change things up a bit. We don’t want you to obviously pick the best Protoss in the world, rather who you think would be best against Ret in a show match.

From the first series, we know that Ret is weak on Neo Medusa when he spawns at the 11 o`clock position vs. {#Zerg}Zerg, and we know that he ZvP’s, so list down 3 maps you think he would do good on that are used in KoreaPro League, and we can use your feedback when making our choice.

<![CDATA[ToT)ret( vs. eSTRO]]> http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/content/news/tot%29ret%28_vs._estro.html

Netherland’s finest takes on eSTRO

Netherlands{#Terran}{#Zerg}ToT)ret( just finished taking 1st place at the 2009 SwedenDreamHack Summer event in Sweden, with a 3-1 victory over Ukraine{#Zerg}DIMAGA from Ukraine in the final match.

Ret is now up for another challenge, this time taking on pro gamers in a series of foreigner vs. pro matches that will be ongoing.

First up to face Ret is a player from the eSTRO pro team, who will be announced at a later date. While it’s still a mystery who he’ll play, he will definitely have his hands full, as I’m sure both USA{#Protoss}NonY and USA{#Terran}IdrA can tell you from their experience from being on the team themselves.

The format will be a best of 3, and the maps will be released when the player is announced, but the good thing is that USA{#Terran}Artosis will be doing live commentary

If you have any suggestions on who you would like to see go up against Ret, feel free to Post Them Here on the matches. Don’t worry if you can’t watch the games live, they will all be available in VOD format shortly after.

The results of the first game are in! For this encounter ret took on the eSTRO Zerg player hwata[saM]. Maximise the spoiler below for the results.

<![CDATA[iCCup National Tournament]]> http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/content/news/iccup_national_tournaments.html iCCup has devised official iCCup national tournaments based on country of residency throughout the season. Players from the featured nation will battle it out with between 16 and 64 of the country's best applicants to claim the title of the nation's top iCCup participant.

Admin USAiCCup.Mai-K will contact national team leaders in order to organise the tournaments, hosted through iCCup tournaments, to determine the date and time of the tournament and also to determine the number of players participating (and hence the order of the prize given). If more players apply than can fit in the tournament size, the first applicants will be entered into the tourney while spare players are allowed to wait on standby in case of late withdrawals or no-shows.

Other information for these tournaments includes:

1. Either 16, 32 or 64 players will participate, depending on the number of applicants.

2. There will be no pay-in in order to participate in the tournament.

3. Applicants must live in the country of the tournament, and cannot enter if you reside in another country

Prizes:

16-player tournament prizes: 1500/1000/900/900 ladder points.

32-player tournament prizes: 1800/1300/1000/1000 ladder points.

64-player tournament prizes: 2000/1500/1000/1000 ladder points.

Winners receive a gosu icon until the end of the season.

The current map pool used in the first two tournaments is:

1 — Longinus — Bo3
2 — Neo Medusa — Bo3
3 — Colosseum II — Bo3
4 — Return of The King — Bo5

So far the EuropaPeruvian national tournament has completed, with LatinGamers' EuropaLG)naranjitO taking first place. See the full brackets of the tournament on the iCCup tournaments webpage.

Upcoming tournaments include AustriaAustria, USAUSA and CanadaCanada. Click on the links to be directed to the post or tournament so that you can sign up. Keep an eye on the Tournaments Forum and Tournaments page for your nation's tourney.

To participate, wait for a post in the Tournaments forum and post a reply stating your AKA that will be used, requesting to participate, and map suggestions before the due date and register and sign in on the appropriate tournaments page.

Read more about the tournaments and ask questions in the Tournaments forum thread.
